A homebuyers’ drain survey could be the best decision you make
Buying a new property is an exciting, stressful and occasionally bewildering time, especially if you are a first-time buyer! You’ll most likely have been told the importance of a homebuyer survey or building survey, but have you considered that neither of these choices will give you much, if any, insight into the conditions of your drains?
You might rapidly regret moving into your new home when you realise the drainage is in a dire state, being desperately in need of repair and badly blocked. Meanwhile, if problems are identified which you are happy to have fixed, you may be able to renegotiate the asking price!
Whatever you decide to do, there’s nothing more valuable than knowledge when it comes to buying a new property, and this is just as true of the drains as anything else.
Our pre-purchase CCTV drain surveys are non-destructive!
As with our CCTV drain inspections, our homebuyers’ drain surveys require no digging. We will map the entire network of pipes to detect issues such as:
✔ The location of the drains and where they connect to sewer lines
✔ The overall condition of the drains
✔ Potential blockages caused by build-ups of scale, grease and other items
✔ Presence of tree roots in the drainage system
✔ Drain collapses
