Use the plunger
This classic tool is still great at clearing blockages. First, block the overflow with an old dishcloth. Then place the plunger over the plughole and gently push it up and down, before lifting it away. Then repeat!

Baking soda and vinegar
Pour a small amount of baking soda down the drain, followed by a cup of white vinegar. Leave it to fizz for a few minutes., then use boiled water to rinse it down.
Use a drain unblocker
Chemical unblockers can be effective for minor blockages. Follow the instructions on the label.
